IP Address and account tracking
We track IP addresses in three places : Account Signup, Forum posts and individual pub comments. We do
this because of repeated legal problems with comments posted by irresponsible users. In this case, your
privacy is subordinate to SydneyCafeGuide.net not being sued out of existence. Yes, we have had
several legal issues over users posting potentially libellous comments. If you post libellous comments,
we may be forced to give your IP address to the appropriate legal authority.
Please be aware we will not share your information without a solid legal reason. We're not Big Brother,
this isn't 1984, but we must cover ourselves against being sued because of irresponsible users. If you're
really paranoid, consult a good lawyer. If you want one, give us a call and we'll recommend one.
